Leader or Manager you decide

 

Stephen Covey said "Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall." 

Isn't this so true. Leadership in its true essence is driven by individual talent and outside the box thinking.

Today, many senior management have forgotten what it is to be a true leader, not because they want to, but because the challenges that they face whilst in their positions to make the profit margins and have simply reduced to 'Management'.

The drive to actually make a difference seems to have diminished and it needs to be revived. There is such a slight difference between Management and Leadership, management is doing things the right way, following process and Leadership is actually doing the right things taking that initiative to create and or improve upon things, it is about taking responsibility and not making excuses.

Most of the successful leaders have been visionaries and great influencer's, they are people who let their work and staff speak for them.

Leadership is a powerful combination of character and strategy, it is these attributes that would help create a successful organization.
